More About IBM Ink Cartridges

You spent a lot on your IBM printer. That doesn't mean you have to spend a lot on the ink. You can find savings on printer ink with a remanufactured replacement cartridge. By purchasing a remanufactured printer ink cartridge, you will save money and help the environment. You will also be getting a product of the same quality as name-brand cartridges from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). There really is little difference between OEM and remanufactured printer ink cartridges. Remanufactured printer ink cartridges are made by third-party companies unaffiliated with IBM. These companies carefully check each used cartridge, looking for defects and repairing any problems. They then sanitize the cartridges before refilling them with ink. This is a closer inspection than you'll ever get from an OEM that mass produces the cartridges, only checking once every so often for quality.

Remanufactured cartridges work well with IBM printers. Because they are the same cartridges sold by IBM, they fit perfectly into the printer. They are reconditioned and refilled with the same quality printer ink from the factory. This brings the cartridges back to new condition at a cost 30 to 60 percent less than an OEM printer ink cartridge. This savings reduces your cost per page by about thirty percent and also helps the environment too. Manufacturers must use a lot of energy to make the plastic cartridges. When you buy a remanufactured cartridge, you help reduce energy use while saving tons of steel, aluminum, rubber and plastic from being dumped in a landfill.

Some people worry that using a remanufactured printer cartridge in an IBM printer might be a problem. They prefer to use only OEM cartridges. But it doesn't make much sense to pay twice as much for the same quality product. Because a remanufactured cartridge is made with the same cartridge made by IBM, it is the same product. The ink used to refill the cartridge is of the same quality, so it's is difficult to understand why printer owners would keep paying double for printer ink unnecessarily. Remanufactured cartridges will not hurt your printer. Laboratory testing shows that you get the same results with remanufactured cartridges as you do with OEM ones.

The only true differences between OEM and a remanufactured printer ink cartridge are the factory location and the name of the maker. IBM makes new cartridges at its factories. A remanufactured printer cartridge is made at another factory by another company, using the identical cartridge and the same quality printer ink. It makes no difference to the printer which ink you use, so why pay more? You'll save money on printer ink and feel good about helping the environment.
