Perfect Reproduction At Low Prices

2010-05-26

There's more to think about than simply ink prices when buying a printer. Most consumers are more worried about the quality of prints, whether they're printing office documents or high definition pictures. The trouble is, it's hard to buy an economical printer if you're worried about quality, and it's even more difficult to find inexpensive ink that can provide quality prints. Refillable ink cartridges are a great solution for many computer users looking for perfect reproductions; they're inexpensive, they work just as well as name-brand printer ink cartridges, and they're safe and very easy to use.

Refillable ink cartridges aren't available in most stores, and need to be purchased online. This is usually due to agreements that stores have with printer manufacturers. Large printer companies make most of their money off of printer ink sales, not from selling actual printer units--there are a few exceptions, but the market's very much based on ink sales. As such, these companies have a vested interest in keeping competition to a minimum. They patent their cartridge designs, and pressure stores to keep printer refill kits off of the shelves. They also declare that refill kits will void their printer warranties. Because of these practices, many consumers are entirely unaware of the existence of printer refill kits, even though these kits have been available for over a decade.

Refills are available for almost every printer on the market, and they're even available for high quality printers. The ink used in refill kits is the same (or extremely similar) to the ink used in name brand cartridges, too. And despite what printer companies might want you to think, there's nothing especially complex about the ink reserves of a printer cartridge; once a cartridge has been properly refilled, it will print exactly the same as a brand new unit. Refill kits cost a fraction of the price of standard cartridges, especially when ordered in bulk online. However, it's important to follow the instructions included with each kit in order to avoid overfilling the ink reserves. These instructions are usually very simple, and in fact follow some fairly common sense guidelines.

Refillable cartridges are a great choice for nearly any computer when they're used properly. They're extremely safe--there's no better chance of spills or other issues than with a standard cartridge--and the savings add up almost immediately. They're certainly worthy of consideration for any computer user concerned about the quality of prints, and as there's no drop off in quality, they're an amazingly effective way to save money with a fairly minimal amount of effort.
