How New Printer Ink Cartridges Can Make Printed Images Brighter

2010-08-27

When a printer has been using a printer ink cartridge on its last legs, you may notice that the image quality is not as good as it was when the printer ink cartridge was brand new. That's because as the printer ink cartridge gets low in ink, the printer may be trying to conserve ink by automatically switching to a lower print quality setting, or because the ink itself is not as concentrated and in enough quantity to produce quality images. However, when you replace an older printer ink cartridge that is low in ink with a brand new printer ink cartridge, you will notice that it will produce a brighter printed image. There are two reasons why this happens when you use a new printer ink cartridge.

Reason Number One: New Printer Ink is Fresher

When you place a new printer ink cartridge into a printer, you are removing the seal from the cartridge that preserves the ink's freshness. Fresh ink is more supple and fluid, and thus comes from the ink cartridge smoother and onto the printed page to produce a brighter printed image. Ink that has set over time may start to coalesce and may not come out of the ink cartridge as smoothly to produce as bright an image. Ink also breaks down when exposed to extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, so a fresh ink cartridge is more likely to have been protected from extreme temperatures and sunlight than an older ink cartridge inside a printer. New printer ink is fresher and produces better results.

Reason Number Two: New Printer Ink Doesn't Sacrifice Print Quality

Printers sometimes have automatic settings where the print quality of the images will drop when the ink in the printer cartridge reaches a certain level. If the ink level in the cartridge is too low, the printer may revert to a lower quality setting. The result is that you may get images that are more grainy or pixilated. However, installing a new printer ink cartridge allows printers to use the entire capacity of the ink cartridge to produce the finest quality images. Printers can be set to the highest quality settings to take advantage of a new printer ink cartridge. The result is better quality and brighter images when using a new printer ink cartridge.

New printer ink cartridges can make printed images better when they are installed into a printer. Old printer ink cartridges can make printed images dull and grainy. But when printer ink is fresh and a printer recognizes that there's ample ink in the cartridge, the result is images that stand out and appear brighter.
