Fiscal Supply Responsibility From Refillable Cartridges
2010-05-23
For many companies, saving money, even more so than making it, has shot to the top of their priority list as the economy has taken a turn for the worse, and businesses that were on their way to the top suddenly found their elevator stalled just before the penthouse. One area that many companies have marked as a prime area for cost reduction is their use of paper, ink and printer products. All of these are necessary materials for any business to succeed, even in a market trending inevitably toward an online model in every aspect of company functioning, from purchasing to finance and payroll. One way that companies have chosen to be fiscally responsible is to limit their use of printer ink, and also to purchase refillable ink cartridges instead of brand new models every time one runs dry.
Although this method of saving seems minimal at first, companies that have had success with it have realized it is the accumulation of savings over time that can have a net positive effect on their bottom line. New printer ink cartridges can cost 50% more than taking existing ones to be refilled, and though this difference may only be a matter of several dollars or even ten, this can quickly add up in a business that uses ten, twenty, or one hundred printers. The key concern that many fiscally responsible businesses have is the performance of these refilled cartridges over their newer counterparts. These concerns mostly lay in pages printed and quality of copies produced, as a cartridge that costs significantly less but also prints significantly fewer pages may end up as a net loss for the company, rather than a benefit.
For any company looking to even out their fiscal bottom line and considering refilled ink cartridges as an option, there are several things to consider. The first is the amount of cartridges needed to keep the business up and running at any given time. The second is to source out a reliable printer ink refiller, as if proper care is not taken when the cartridges are refilled, they can be damaged irreparably or begin leaking unwanted ink. In addition to using refilled cartridges, many companies are also choosing to purchase remanufactured ink cartridges. These are almost identical to OEM cartridges, but with a slightly different ink composition and a lower cost. In combination, using remanufactured ink cartridges and having them refilled on a regular basis can go a long way to helping a company maintain a stable bottom line, and leave more money free for other ventures. Though care must be taken for this to be effective, it can add up to a significant savings over time.
